One-Year Clinical Comparison of Two Posterior Composite Resins
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare a one-year clinical performance of two composites (Ariston PHC with Tetric) in class II cavity preparations. Materials & Methods: Ninety-six class I and II modified cavity preparations in identical patients were prepared. Metallic matrix was used for restoration of class II preparations. Ariston PHC and Tetric were used for restorations. The clinical criteria consisted of post-operative sensitivity, marginal discoloration, recurrent caries and marginal adaptation that were evaluated after one year. Results: The Fisher’s exact test, t-test and Chi-square Pearson were used for analysis of data (P≤0.05). There was no significant difference between the two composites regarding post-operative sensitivity and marginal adaptation. Marginal discoloration by Ariston PHC was significantly less than Tetric. Most of this marginal discoloration was observed in proximal margins of class II restorations. There were only two recurrent caries (5.1%) in cervical margins of Tetric restorations. The maxilla and mandible did not have a significant effect on clinical criteria. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in post-operative sensitivity between the two composites. Marginal discoloration using Ariston PHC was significantly less than that of Tetric. No significant failure was observed when using any of the composites.

Comparative Evaluation of microleakage of Bulk-fill and Posterior Composite Resins Using the Incremental Technique and a Liner in Cl II Restorations
Background and Aim: In recent years there has been a surge in the use of tooth-colored restorations. However, the polymerization shrinkage of these materials can form gaps, resulting in microleakage. This study aimed to compare microleakage by using different materials and techniques. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, Cl II cavities were prepared on the mesial surfaces of 60 s...

OBJECTIVE To compare the performance and postoperative sensitivity of a posterior resin composite with that of bonded amalgam in 40 (n = 20) large sized cavities and to evaluate whether resin composite could be an alternative for bonded amalgam. MATERIALS AND METHODS This was a randomized clinical trial. Twenty patients in need of at least two posterior restorations were recruited. Authors ra...
متن کاملComparison of the effect of two mouthwashes with alcohol and without alcohol on microhardness changes of two types of composite resins(in vitro)
Abstract Background & Aim: Considering the widespread use of composite restorations and the provision of nanocomposites on one side and the common use of mouthwashes, there are concerns about the microhardness of composites and their known complications following mouthwashes. So, the present study was aimed to compare the effect of two mouthwash with alcohol and without alcohol on microhardness...

Restoration of primary teeth continues to be an important facet of restorative dentistry. In comparison to restorations in permanent dentition, the longevity of those in primary teeth is significantly different for all materials. This makes the assessment of these fillings as a separate group meaningful. As there is lack of supporting clinical data with regard to the restoration of primary inci...
